To know what type of abortion you can have, you need to know how far along you are in your pregnancy. The abortion pill method is only approved through 10 weeks of pregnancy. For your safety, an ultrasound can detect the number of weeks you’ve been pregnant.
In addition, you need to know if your pregnancy is developing or if you’ve had a miscarriage. Over one in five pregnancies ends early in a miscarriage. Finally, you learn the location of your pregnancy. If it isn’t in the correct location, it could be life-threatening.
